How long do Berners live and do they have a lot of
health problems?

The average lifespan for Bernese is 7 years, but we are trying
to improve that.  Now that doesn't mean your dog is going to
die at 7, it does mean that we are loosing our dogs to different
problems including cancer, auto-immune mediated diseases
and other various problems.  Some unfortunately younger and
some at older ages.  We do have dogs living until 14 now.  I
can tell you that I am trying everything I can to breed healthy
dogs.

Who should I buy my Berner from and what do
they cost
?

There are many people selling Bernese these days.  A good
first question to ask is are you a member of the National
Club?  If they are, at least they have some guidelines they are
following and they are being asked to follow certain ethics.
You can buy Bernese from the paper, pet stores and puppy
millers.  You will get what you pay for.  A Breeder should
offer you a contract, a reliable source for your questions for
the life of the dog.  Help when you need help.  They should
know the pedigree and the quality of the puppy they are
selling you.  When you talk to a breeder you should feel like
you have made a new friend.

Bernese puppies from reputable breeders are running
anywhere from 1800.00 to 2
500.00 just for the Puppy.

Right now my puppies are
$2000.00 if you are local or can
come and get them.  2500.00 if I ship the puppy to you and
this will cover all expenses
.
