



| How long do Berners live and do they have a lot of health problems? The average lifespan for Bernese is 7 years, but we are trying to improve that. Now that doesn't mean your dog is going to die at 7, it does mean that we are loosing our dogs to different problems including cancer, auto-immune mediated diseases and other various problems. Some unfortunately younger and some at older ages. We do have dogs living until 14 now. I can tell you that I am trying everything I can to breed healthy dogs. If they are, at least they have some guidelines they are following and they are being asked to follow certain ethics. You can buy Bernese from the paper, pet stores and puppy millers. You will get what you pay for. A Breeder should offer you a contract, a reliable source for your questions for the life of the dog. Help when you need help. They should know the pedigree and the quality of the puppy they are selling you. When you talk to a breeder you should feel like you have made a new friend.
